Sitka Gold Corp. Oct. 21 announced the results of an incredible 678.1-meter intercept that returned 1.04 grams per metric ton gold from surface at its RC Gold project in Yukon, Canada, showcasing the immense potential of this district-scale property within the prolific Tombstone Gold Belt.Drilled earlier this year as part of Sitka’s ongoing 2024 campaign at Blackjack, hole DDRCCC-24-068 was initially completed in August and, at the time, was reported as the deepest and most gold-rich hole ever for the company.Designed to test the continuity of gold mineralization at depth, 068 targeted the down-plunge extension of known mineralization at Blackjack, aiming to explore the system’s limits and intersect previously untested deeper zones. Now, with the results finally in, hole 068 confirmed consistent mineralization and extended the zone by 200 meters vertically, demonstrating both strong continuity and higher grades with depth. Cross section of DDRCCC-24-068, the longest hole drilled at Blackjack Zone to date, extending to 708.7 meters – approximately 200 meters deeper than previous drilling.”The results from our latest drilling at the Blackjack Zone continue to highlight the persistence of strong gold values with Hole DDRCCC-24-068 delivering an impressive 678.1 metres of 1.04 g/t gold from surface, including a higher-grade intercept of 93 metres at 2.57 g/t gold at the bottom of the hole that also included 5.5 m of 17.59 g/t gold,” said Sitka Gold CEO Cor Coe.Few comparable intercepts have been recorded within the North of 60 coverage area that is as extensive and continuously mineralized, with notable examples found at Snowline Gold’s Rogue property in Yukon and the Donlin Gold project in the Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta of southwest Alaska. This positions Sitka’s 678.1-meter hole at Blackjack among some of the most substantial gold exploration results in the region.”As the deepest hole ever drilled into this system, Hole 68 has significantly extended the gold mineralization at Blackjack, approximately 200 metres below any previous drilling, and demonstrates the potential for higher-grade mineralization to continue deeper in what appears to be a higher-grade component of this gold system and current drilling is focused on expanding this exciting new zone,” added Coe.While Sitka’s ongoing 2024 exploration at RC Gold has already delivered impressive results, assays are still pending for six more holes at Blackjack, along with initial drilling at Rhosgobel and Pukelman – two additions to Sitka’s portfolio within the Clear Creek property, where additional visible gold has been observed – indicating even more potential across these targets. “While we eagerly await further assay results from our drilling at Blackjack, we are also looking forward to receiving assays from our initial drill holes at the Rhosgobel and Pukelman targets located five kilometres south and two kilometres southeast respectively from the Blackjack area,” said Coe. “Our systematic approach to drilling continues to unlock significant value at RC Gold and we look forward to further advancing this 431 square kilometre, contiguous, district-scale property that exhibits the potential to host several multi-million-ounce gold deposits.”Looking ahead, Sitka aims to maintain its aggressive exploration at RC Gold, concentrating efforts on expanding and defining mineralization at Blackjack, Rhosgobel, and Pukelman while also evaluating broader targets within its property, including Saddle and Eiger. As part of this strategy, the company plans to pursue deeper drilling at Blackjack alongside step-out drilling across additional targets, all in pursuit of uncovering several multi-million-ounce gold deposits within the 431-square-kilometer (166 square miles) property.
